The way Scotchgard works is straightforward: it creates a protective layer on the surface of your carpet that hold backs any liquid and similar substances that reach it. Whereas you would normally be forced to deal with the full effects of a spill, with Scotchgard you will have a much easier time as wiping or blotting the surface will usually do the trick.

This might make certain customers curious: isn't applying Scotchgard counterproductive for a carpet cleaning company? Won't dirty carpets lead to more work?
